We are Still Early: Only 20% of Companies in Europe are Using AI in their Workflows
Most companies in Europe haven’t touched AI yet. Eurostat says that only 20% of EU Enterprises (above 10 people) are using AI. That means 80% are still figuring out what it even is.

- Adoption isn’t uniform. Denmark (42 %), Finland (37.8 %), and Sweden (35 %) are ahead. Romania (5.2 %), Poland (8.4 %), and Bulgaria (8.5 %) are barely started.
- The most common uses are analyzing text, generating written or spoken language, and converting speech to machine-readable formats. Generating images, video, and audio is less common.
- Almost all countries are increasing adoption year-over-year. This means that awareness, adoption and experimentation are rising.
The business opportunities for AI are not just about connecting ChatGPT, MistralAI or Claude. It’s a whole new way of to think about workflows, decisions, and processes.
We’re still early. There's still plenty of opportunity. And that is exciting.
Those who start experimenting now will define what comes next.
